A little formal introduction

Saturday, August 10, 2013

I must of assumed that if you landed on my blog you must know a little about me or what I do...but than it dawned on me that I don't "know" the bloggers I love to follow other than what they've shared with their readers...so here goes nothing.

My name is Kim and currently reside in a lovely little town called Visalia (I am sure you haven't heard of it since most Californian's haven't) but I promise that once you meet the people, try the food (you can't leave town without trying a salad from Bravo Farms or pho & calamari from Pho & Seafood) and realize that the mountains that house the largest trees in the world are only about a 30 minute drive you immediately forget the awful smell of cow poop you smelled upon arriving off highway 99, and you realize Visalia is quiet the little gem...one in which I love to call home.

If you would of asked me while I was in high school what I saw my self doing at the age of 25 I would of answered: Married, probably 2 kids and working in something with architecture/corporate business of sort....and well let me tell ya, I am neither of those 3 things ESPECIALLY anything having to do with architecture, I quickly realized that math and I had a mutual hate relationship.

Today I play barista by day and plan other peoples weddings (and other events) by night and love to dive in creative opportunities...and when I look back at my 'plan' it's quiet comical to me to compare where I thought I would be/'should be' doing to what I am doing and how different it is, but without a doubt I know I am suppose to be where I am at.

Now getting to this place of being satisfied of where life has taken me up until this point wasn't all that easy, but it got easier when I decided to let go of all those 'other plans' for the sake of being more present in what's taking place NOW.

I hope this blog serves as a resource for inspiration rather than comparison...it's super easy to look at the life of others and assume someone else's life is 'funner/greater' (Thanks Instagram) but before you jump to a crazy conclusion about my life or someone else's, know that you ARE where you're suppose to be and if you start pursing life from the position of being content where you're at rather than trying to find contentment through someone else's, life will be a lot more easier and exciting.

Life is also a little more exciting and hilarious when you take a moment for sillyness...I hope you return to find out what else I am up to with Drops Of Honey.
